Cinnamon rolls are a gooey, sweet treat that many people today love. Most people go out to buy cinnamon rolls from a bakery or special food stand. The reality is that they are very simple to make at home. Here is new cinnamon roll recipe that you should try.

Making the Dough

Start by combining two eggs with a cup of milk. Everything should be room temperature. Mix in four and a half cups of all-purpose flour and a third of a cup of butter. Put in two teaspoons of salt and a half-cup of granulated sugar. Finish with two and a half teaspoons of active dry yeast. Mix well until everything has been fully incorporated.

Proofing and Baking Instructions

Form the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl. Cover it with a towel. Allow the dough to rise for about an hour. Punch the dough down to deflate it. Roll it out into a large rectangle. Cut a third of a cup of butter into small pieces and mix with some cinnamon and a cup of brown sugar. Spread the butter mixture evenly across the dough. Roll the rectangle up into a log and cut it into a dozen pieces. Place the pieces into a baking pan. Cover the rolls and allow them to rise a second time for 30 minutes. Cook the buns for around 15 minutes in a pre-heated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven.

Creating the Icing

Get a little more than a third of a cup of room temperature cream cheese. Combine it with a quarter cup of very soft butter. Add in a cup and a half of sifted confectioners’ sugar. Finish with a half teaspoon of vanilla extract. Keep stirring everything together until you have a smooth and silky icing.

Finishing the Dish

Take the rolls out of the oven. You want to immediately start putting the icing on top while they are hot. This will allow the icing to melt a little and coat the entire roll. You can then serve the cinnamon rolls warm or store them in the refrigerator. You could even freeze some to have much later.
